Bringing together two facts can create an interesting point of view on it. Somebody’s judgements in the negative (first fact), while several advisors concur (second fact), causing the ever decreasing circles of control on a poor, talented life (point of view), the claws grip tighter…as one scene builds on another.


How can you know yourself if a piece of writing in a new genre you are exploring is good or not? When there few examples to compare with? Be an originator rather than a follower?

Realize / reality

Not getting published is not the quality of my work. That is a big understanding, because I realize the work itself is not the issue. This understanding can liberate inadequacy with my work. Whenever the publisher says, in a rejection letter, “best wishes placing this elsewhere” is meaning the piece did not suit or fit them, quite literally. It is about the publisher’s requirements.
