Get it?

I seen the film before reading the screenplay. “How does one do that?”

By buying the screenplay after seeing the film. “I still don’t get it.” Well, it’s The Empire Strikes Back screenplay, get it? “Oh, I get it. How was it?” Do you mean how was the film? Or the screenplay? ….There was a pause…Well, seeing the film changes everything about reading the screenplay. “How does seeing the film change reading the screenplay? Did they do a rewrite? And reshoot it?” Come to think about it, that might have been a good idea.

“What would you give it out of ten, then? The screenplay, that is.” As I said, seeing the film changes everything about reading the screenplay. End of story. “So you won’t watch the film next time?” Well, I’ll have to start reading the screenplay first. Then, I’ll watch the film. “Kind of like reading the book first?” Yes. Next time, I’ll be the actor reading the script long before it’s made. And hopefully they’ll listen to my input.
