Writing screenplays one has to pay attention to how one names scenes or titles scenes.
I noted for my own learning, as I was reading the published screenplay to The Empire Strikes Back, by Lawrence Kasdan and Leigh Brackett, a detail that I could have overlooked, but now that I’ve noticed, I hope to remember if I ever write a screenplay for fun or more serious endeavors.
It’s again another of those small details that producers pay attention to. It shows them, do you know your craft? I hope to know it so very well in that place I mentioned…but there are so many other things to prove to the producer that I know my stuff. I must know the screenplay form inside out.
Even if I didn’t approach a producer with my spec screenplay, I would want to know I got it right, anyhow–which is always a good start.
