On having written newspaper articles, the appropriate thing is “journalistic style”: punchy, sharp and to the point which is what newspaper articles should be. But two weeks ago I thought I’d never write that way again.
About two weeks ago I wrote how I preferred my early style of writing to my later style of writing–the early style was simpler and flowed more beautifully and the later style was more in a journalistic style.
Yet there is still something applicable and appropriate to the later journalistic style. It might mean I still write in the journalistic style I adopted, for journalistic style articles.
However, these days I prefer doing the simpler, more beautiful style that was in my early work, so might not be doing journalistic style articles again, especially since they require the style I don’t prefer. However, sometimes, one may just have to, if the story requires it.
