Consider things that may work better if the big picture doesn’t seem to work, things that may work better. As a rule of thumb, the micro may be better than the macro.
Better things to write about may be ordinary, everyday scenes rather than the big picture. These may be a better basis for one’s articles and stories and more effective than general life themes and events. This is because the micro relates to people’s or reader’s experience more than extraordinary life themes and events.
Unless the extraordinary is presented in a palatable way and if one can make it into an event story of interest to many or the target audience. Some extraordinary ‘event’ stories have a niche market, and a few may appeal to a wide audience, if presented palatably for those kinds of audiences.
