Something ends, something else begins

Getting rejected by a publisher hurts, like it did for me today. In my case this time it was a rejection in the devotional genre. But after the “throwing writing in” thoughts subside, it occurred to me to try another publisher in the same genre (in my case this time it is in the devotional genre),

or try some other genre or something else completely that utilizes my writing/creative/research skills somehow. It’s not over yet…However, I still have several devotions on the short list with the same publisher that may be published with a definitive acceptance, if they get back to me. One can’t force the hand that chooses, though. That’s the way it goes in publishing. Shall one still try another genre if the odds are against getting published, anytime? No one would know how they did if they didn’t try and keep on trying.
